New FTIR analysis facility for NFFA-Trieste users
Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy, microscopy and nanoscopy with infrared synchrotron radiation and bench-top IR sources are performed at SISSI-Bio, the Chemical and Life Sciences branch of the Elettra beamline SISSI.
SISSI-Bio is devoted to the investigation of chemical composition of bulk materials, surfaces and interfaces exploiting the vibrational pattern of molecular matter constituents. Chemical details can be achieved at different scale of spatial resolution, from the macro-scale (FTIR spectroscopy) to the micro (FTIR microscopy) and the nano-scale (FTIR nanoscopy) exploiting both infrared synchrotron radiation (IRSR) and conventional sources.
We take the opportunity to welcome Dr. Lisa Vaccari and Dr. Giovanni Birarda to the NFFA-Trieste team. Besides being a reference point for users, Dr. Vaccari will be part of the scientific council in charge of the technical evaluation of NFFA-Trieste proposals.
We always remind you that the NFFA-Trieste project takes into consideration experimental proposals that require integrated access to different techniques in the nanoscience research: the acceptable projects must involve the use of at least two different scientific techniques of the catalog.
