PhD Thesis

Nanomagnetic phenomena driven by optical field and by plasmonic structure below the optical diffraction limit

Location: PhD school in Physics, Astrophysics and Applied Physics at the University of Milan

Application deadline: 27/07/2023

Duration: 3 years (2023-2026)

Optical excitation and spectroscopic analysis will complement the field-matter coupling processes investigation at the nanoscale. In particular, structural information will complement nanomagnetic phenomena driven by the optical field. Plasmonic structures will overcome the optical diffraction limits for down-scaling of optoelectronic devices. Studies on surface magneto-dynamics processes at nanoscale with the use of a pulsed source, extending the temporal resolution to the current spin-resolved spectral-microscopies. Acquisition of FAIR data and implementation of FAIR-by-design technology in the framework of NFFA-DI.

The NFFA-DI research infrastructure upgrade (www.NFFA-DI.it) is a National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP – PNRR in Italian) project for supporting research in the nanosciences, with 11 access point located across the Italian territory, belonging to 4 actors (Unimi, Polimi, AREA Science Park, CNR). NFFA-DI will upgrade the participating Italian laboratories to the standard of NFFA-Europe/NEP advanced instrumentation and organization model. (www.NFFA.eu)
